Khmer Calligraphy 2021

I started this calligraphy art initiative called #khmerappreciationmonth last year to learn about my heritage.

This year, I’m so happy to be able to expand my art skill by integrating my English calligraphy into Khmer writing. While it is “not normal” to see a “blackletter” version of Khmer writing, I wanted to really meld the 2 worlds I live in into 1. We don’t have to always box things up or say that is proper or that is incorrect. For me, art is about experimenting and learning.
