Illuminated Literary Female Characters

One of my big fun projects this year, among all the client work, was to create a drawing of famous literary female characters with a illuminated letter. I thought this would be a fun project but it turned out to be even more interesting. I’ve read so many new books I haven’t read before and it made me realize how lacking in diversity AND female characters there are in literature.

So here’s a look at the pieces I did. The ones I couldn’t think of names, I just did a flourished illumination.
