My #DogDaysOfSummer at The Museum of the Dog
On August 24, 2019, I participated in the artist showcase at The Museum of the Dog (run by the American Kennel Club). The #DogDayOfSummer featured women artists painting dog portraits. There were 30 applicants and 10 were chosen to demonstrate on Saturday and Sunday.
After a client friend sent me a link to the event, I submitted tote bags and sketches to the committee. I was thrilled to be accepted!

On Saturday, there were 5 other artists demonstrating. Their work is amazing and I hope you can check it out!

For the demonstration, I used Bonci, a Havanese who is my neighbor. The process includes a sketch, laying a thin watery acrylic base, letting it dry, and then starting the actual painting.

The final piece always have a brush lettering of the dog’s name.

I’m super grateful of the acceptance and I can’t wait to visit the museum again as a guest!
